DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park: On your 1st Day of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, our well trained safari driver will pick you up from the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport upon landing in Uganda then you’ll set off for your 7 hour drive from either Kampala/ Entebbe to the western part of Uganda which is one of awesome regions in Uganda where you’ll get to see people practicing cattle rearing, rift valley escarpments big farm lands with a variety of plantations and vegetation among so many other features. On your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, you’ll have some stop over where you 1st stop over is at the Equator where you’ll in between the North and South Pole and take some of the photographs and videos of the equator.

5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari

Up on finishing, you’ll proceed with your journey then stop over at Mbarara City for lunch which is the most beautiful and stunning city in the whole of Western Uganda. Upon arrival at your destination in the evening, you’ll be directed to your lodge, check in, take a bath then prepare for dinner then rest preparing for your adventure the next day.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise. On your  Day2 of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, you’ll wakeup early in the morning, freshen up then be ready for your early morning breakfast. After the early morning breakfast, you’ll organize yourself, pack some small drinking water and smacks to cater you on your trekking exercise and wear a good and comfortable outfit then meet your safari driver head out for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the best sector to have your game drive. Be sure to see some of the nocturnal mammals and hunters (lions) which are always active in the hunting during the night, take photographs and videos of these nocturnal mammals. You’ll then proceed to see these beautiful grazing mammals which will be feeding in large numbers and many more other wildlife animals, birds, insects and even vegetation that thrill in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari

The wildlife animals you will be able to see are the Hippos, elephants, zebras, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and many more different kinds of animals. You’ll have lots of fun learning the behavior of these animals, modes of feeding as well as their mode of life which is so cool to have the best time to experience and encounter these lovely moments with these animals.

After enjoying your game drive, get back to the lodge to have some lunch and you’ll get back for another wonderful afternoon adventurer experience. You’ll have a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which is well known for harboring a large population of hippos where you’ll be able to see these lovely hippos, and take photographs of them. You’ll also be able to encounter some other wildlife flock of birds at the shores of Kazinga channel feeding and quenching their thirst during the hot day. After encountering all this during the boat cruise, you’ll get back to your lodge freshen up, prepare for dinner then have a nap resting and preparing for the next adventurer’s day.

Day 3: Tree climbing Lions and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Tree climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi: On your 2nd Day of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, you’ll have to wake up early in the morning, freshen up the take your breakfast then you’ll pack some food/ snacks and drinking water to cater you for lunch during the trek then meeting your safari driver who will take you to Ishasha sector for another game drive to venture the tree climbing lions which are only found at Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the pearl of Africa (Uganda) then also at Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park The biggest population of these tree climbing lions are only found in these 2 destinations in the whole while making them so special and unique in their own way. You’ll take photos of them, see their mode of life and behavior. After the game drive, you’ll enjoy your picnic lunch under some shade tree over there or if not interested you may visit any hotel nearby for lunch. After your lunch, you’ll then exit Queen Elizabeth National park go to your lodge pack then head with your safari driver towards the south western corner of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you’ll get to see these lovely mountain gorillas at any of these 4 sectors of the park (Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo and Ruhija). Expect to arrive at the lodge late in the evening where you’ll check in, fresh up, take your dinner then take an overnight sleep ready for another adventurers next day.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi: On your 4th Day of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, please wakeup early in the morning, fresh up, prepare for breakfast then meet your safari driver (but remember to pack enough drinking water and snacks to cater you during the trek because this exercise always takes almost the whole day due to more time taken searching for these gorillas in the forest). Your driver will take you to the park headquarters where you’ll have a briefing about the dos and don’ts to be undertaken while in the field carrying out the exercise. You’ll be divided into different groups depending on the number of gorilla families available in the forest, then be escorted by armed rangers and local guides ready to search for these awesome gorilla families in the forest.

Gorilla Trekking Safari

Gorilla trekking is always considered a full day exercise because no one is sure on how long the entire trek might last due to severe roaming and movement of these gorilla families up and down within the forest in search for food, better homesteads therefore more time will be spent trying to more around searching for these families so please end ever to endure this exercise but at the end you’ll get the best experience to talk about while in the forest. The speed of the trekkers favors some slow people making you all finish the trek faster as early as possible in time. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has a variety of other wonderful tourist attractions that you are likely to see during the trek like some other primates, mammals, birds, butterflies and so many other attractions.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Once you find these gorilla families, you are expected to use a maximum of one hour to have a close interaction with these lovely gorillas take photos with them and learn new things about them that you have not been knowing which is kind of awesome. After your interaction with the gorillas you’ll then exit the forest, moving back to the office to obtain your Gorilla trekking certificate, then after that you can proceed to your lodge.

Later in the evening, you’ll get a chance to have a batwa experience where the local Batwa pygmies will entertain you with lots of lovely music, dance and drama to make your evening more special and fantastic. You’ll then be served dinner, then take an overnight sleep.

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala for departure

Drive back to Kampala:  On your 4th Day of 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari, wake up early in the morning, take your breakfast, organize, then checkout off your lodge, meet your safari driver, then start your journey back to Kampala from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. If you have a stopover in Mbarara city to take up some lunch then you will either be dropped off at any hotel in Kampala or taken direct to the airport in case you have an evening or night flight.
